Wire Woman & Computer Guy

June 30, 2005. The idea started when Rudi and I were over at our friends' place. We were trying to come up with things to do, and it turned out they had a karaoke machine but weren't sure how to hook it up. Being somewhat of a wiz with AV equipment, I saved the day and hooked it up fairly quickly. You guys are "Wire Woman and Computer Guy" someone said, and the name stuck.

For years now, Rudi and I have been wanting to create a comic book with two characters based on ourselves entitled "The Adventures of Wire Woman and Computer Guy." Unfortunately, we haven't done much. I created a couple of character sketches and jotted down a few ideas, but nothing really solidified.

We hope to, however, do something with these characters. I'd like to get back into drawing/sketching more 'cuz I used to love it back in my Robotech obsession days. But we may not necessarily see them in comic book form. Time will tell how they will be revealed to the world...

OpenGL/Computer Graphics Programming

July 6, 2005. I've been doing a lot of programming lately, thanks to Rudi, but sometimes unwillingly! Luckily, Rudi turned me on to this one thing that has really gotten me excited about programming—creating 2D/3D graphics. We delved into this area together while working on the 3D Windows Visualisation for CompLearn, but I was itching to learn more.

We've already bought a couple of books to get me started, Computer Graphics, by Foley, van Dam, Feiner & Hughes, and OpenGL Programming Guide, by Shreiner, Woo, Neider and Davis. Flipping through them, I can tell it will be a blast. Once work on CompLearn and HCV Action has died down a bit, I can finally focus my energies on some of this fun stuff.
